VIAA Directors at Cansec 2015 Roundtable

VIAA is aggressively marketing Vancouver Island to the global aerospace industry at CANSEC 2015.

CANSEC is Canada’s premier defense trade show. It is occurring May 27 & 28, 2015 in Ottawa. The trade show is attended by over 30 international countries.

VIAA Directors at Cansec 2015VIAA Treasurer Ray Brougham will then continue onto Montreal where he will be bidding on a multi-year contract with Bombardier. This would insure cooperation between industry, UVic’s Centre for Aerospace Research (CfAR), and Camosun College. VIAA continues to expose Vancouver Island as a credible supply base to global industry leaders such as Bombardier, Boeing, and Airbus.

Vancouver Island students get green light, securing Boeing Seattle internships.

“Vancouver Island’s aerospace industry is about to get a shot in the arm as Boeing has agreed to provide paid internships for Island university students starting next summer. According to the agreement signed with the University of Victoria, Royal Roads University and Vancouver Island University, one student from each school will be hired by the aerospace giant, starting in the summer of 2014.” – Victoria Times Colonist, Full article here
